# The scorekeeping app that keeps the book on your phone

> A scorekeeping app for slo-pitch and baseball: one scorer, one phone, a full play-by-play log, and every stat derived from it. Built to work at a diamond with no signal.

Canonical: https://scorethatplay.com

Score • Track • Play On

Slo-pitch and baseball, scored play by play. No account needed — four short questions, then you’re keeping score.

Works in any browser on phone, tablet or computer, and installs to your home screen from the browser — no app store. Free.

## What you get

- Your lineup only — the other side is scored without names
- Works with no signal, and catches up later
- Every play, every stat, kept for the season

## Four questions, then play ball

This is the whole setup. Not a simplified version of it — these are the four things the app actually asks before your first pitch.

1. **Who are you scoring?** Your own team — the side you keep the book for.
2. **Who are you playing?** Just their name. You won't be asked for their lineup.
3. **What are you playing?** This sets up your lineup, so it is worth a tap.
4. **Your batting order:** All of it is optional — name the slots now, or as they bat.

## Every number comes from the plays

The score, the box score, who won and every player’s season totals are worked out from the play-by-play log — nothing is typed in twice, so nothing can disagree with itself.

Undo is exact for the same reason. A play you take back is set aside rather than erased, so the game re-reckons itself and the log still shows what happened.

- **No signal, no problem.** Plays are kept on the phone and sync once when you get bars back. The diamond is the one place you can count on having none.
- **Your lineup only.** You name your own batting order. The other side's at-bats still count — runs, outs and bases — they just don't need names.
- **Kept for the season.** Career totals build up game by game, per player, from the same log.

## Let the bench — and the family — follow along

Open a game up and you get a link anyone can watch on, and a six-character code for whoever is scoring with you. A watcher needs no account and no app: the play-by-play, the line score and the box score update as the game happens.

### Just me

One phone, one scorer. The way most games get kept.

### Two scorekeepers

Each scorekeeper keeps their own team's half-innings.

### Crowd

Anyone who joins can call a play. If the designated scorekeeper stays quiet for five seconds, the majority wins.

## Before you start

### Do I need an account?

No. A fresh install scores its first game straight away, on an account tied to the device. Add an email afterwards if you want to keep your games, and nothing is lost either way.

### What happens when there is no signal at the diamond?

You keep scoring. Every play is recorded on the phone and syncs when signal comes back, exactly once — the app is built around the assumption that the field has no bars.

### Do I have to enter the other team’s lineup?

No. Their at-bats still count — runs, outs and bases — they just won't have names. If someone stands out, tap the batter during the game and name them then.

### Who can see a watch link?

Anyone you send it to, with no account and no app. It is read-only and shows the game, not the people: a watcher never sees who is scoring, and the link stops working when the game is removed.

### Can someone help me score?

Yes. Sharing a game gives you a link anyone can watch on, and a six-character code for whoever is scoring with you.
