# Keep score from ChatGPT or Claude

> Score a baseball or softball game by chatting: create games, record plays, and read the live score, box score and season stats from ChatGPT or Claude, with Score That Play's own scoring rules.

Canonical: https://scorethatplay.com/chatgpt

Connect your Score That Play account to ChatGPT or Claude and keep the book by talking to it. “Single to left, runner from second scores.” The play goes into your game exactly as if you had tapped it in the app: the same scoring rules, the same box score, and anyone watching sees it straight away.

**Connector URL:** `https://api.scorethatplay.com/mcp`

Score That Play isn't in the ChatGPT or Claude app directories yet. Until it is, add it yourself as a custom connector, as below; it takes a minute.

## What you can ask for

- **Start a game.** Bring in one of your saved teams and its roster, give a lineup by name, or let the other side be scored without names. Set the innings, a time limit or a run-ahead rule.
- **Record plays.** Hits, walks, outs, sacrifice flies, fielder’s choices, errors, steals and pickoffs. Outs, runs, force plays, the inning changing and the game ending all follow the app’s rules. Say where a runner went when it wasn’t the usual.
- **Fix a mistake.** Undo the last play, then record the right one. It shows you what will be undone and waits for your yes.
- **Check the game.** The live score, who is on base and who is up, the box score, and the play-by-play.
- **Season stats.** Batting and pitching totals for every player on a saved team, and its record.
- **Finish or delete a game**, each only after you confirm.

## What it can and can’t reach

Only your own games and teams. Sign-in happens on Score That Play’s page, so the assistant never sees your password, and it can’t change your account, invite scorekeepers, share a game or buy anything. A guest account (one made without an email) can’t connect: add an email in the app’s Settings first. To cut off every connection at once, use **Sign out everywhere** on [the connections page](https://api.scorethatplay.com/connect); that also signs you out of the app on your other devices.

## Questions

### Is it in the ChatGPT or Claude directory?

Not yet. Add it as a custom connector with the URL https://api.scorethatplay.com/mcp, as above.

### Does a play recorded in chat show up in the app?

Yes. It is written to the same game the app reads, through the same scoring rules, and anyone with the game open or watching a shared link sees it live.

### Can I tell it the score instead of every play?

No. The score comes from the plays, the same as in the app, which is what keeps the box score and every player’s stats right. Describe the plays and it records them.

### Does it cost anything?

No. Score That Play is free, and so is the connector.
